What is Skelaxin
Skelaxin, known generically as Metaxalone, is a muscle relaxant used to relieve discomfort caused by acute musculoskeletal conditions, such as muscle strains, sprains, and other injuries. It works by acting on the central nervous system (CNS) to reduce muscle spasms, though its exact mechanism is not fully understood.
Skelaxin is typically prescribed alongside rest, physical therapy, and other supportive treatments. It does not directly relax tense muscles but instead helps reduce the pain and discomfort associated with musculoskeletal problems. It is available in tablet form (800 mg) and usually taken three to four times daily.
