We are delighted to announce that Pei-Chin Tsai is the recipient of the 2014 American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) Graduate Student Research Award in Biotechnology. This annual award is provided by the Biotech Section of AAPS and sponsored by Janssen Research and Development, LLC. The program is designed to recognize excellence in graduate education in the field of biotechnology and those graduate students who provided the most outstanding contributions in their field. The award winners will be recognized during the AAPS annual meeting and exposition that is held on Nov 2-6 in San Diego this year.
Pei-Chin Tsai is currently a Ph.D. student in Department of Pharmaceutics, of Rutgers University. She is under the guidance of Dr. Michniak-Kohn and is also a member of the Center for Dermal Research (CDR) and the New Jersey Center for Biomaterials (NJCBM). Her research is focused on exploring biomaterials to develop engineered-skin tissues for pharmaceutical applications and regenerative medicine. In addition, she is also highly interested in developing novel nanotechnology for drug delivery.
American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) is a professional scientific organization founded in 1986. Currently it has approximately 11,000 members from industry, academia, government (e.g., FDA) and other institutes worldwide. The members of AAPS are scientists from pharmaceutics, biopharmaceutics, chemistry, biology, and engineering fields who are involved in the discovery, development, or the manufacturing of drug products. AAPS is committed to promoting innovation in science and technology as well as providing communication between different organizations in order to stimulate integration between different disciplines.
