Polymeric Nanospheres for Topical Delivery of Adalpene

Dr. Michniak recently presented a Keynote talk at the 6th International Conference on Clinical and Experimental Dermatology in Chicago.  Hair follicles are considered as an alternative pathway for topical and transdermal delivery.  They can contribute to absorption and uptake of large molecules and nanoparticles.  Therefore, nanocarriers can potentially be an effective drug delivery system targeting at hair follicle-related disease such as acne and alopecia.  At the Center for Dermal Research (CDR) scientists have been studying hydrophobic drugs encapsulated within tyrosine-derived nanospheres (TyroSpheres) as a platform to facilitate skin delivery.  Among the drugs that have been explored for dermatological applications are steroids, paclitaxel and Vitamin D3
